Check to see what we are offering this month at Tryst Cafe.
An ideal mix of sunshine, sea breezes and cool nights attracted the first winemakers, Spanish missionaries, to the Baja California peninsula over 300 years ago.
Production increased almost 40 percent in the past five years, causing cheer at the annual Vendimia harvest festival in Baja California, where 90 percent of Mexico’s wine is produced.
People have only just started to drink Mexican wine and to learn about it. So promoting it, educating people and holding these kinds of events are essential so that they feel more confident. Tryst Café is excited to host these wonderful wines and informative wine tasting event.
Tryst Café Mexican May wine pairing…
New Age White Blend: Chile, Sauvignon Blanc and Torrontes.
Very light-bodied, but utterly crisp and clean with a sweetish attack on the palate filled with honeydew melon, apricot flesh and zippy, zesty citrus fruit.
Amalaya Red Blend: Argentina, Malbec, Cabernet, Syrah and Tannat.
Very fruity, with intense aromas of cherry, raspberry and black berries such as mulberry. It has a soft chocolate touch due to oaking.
Abadia Rivola Red: Spain, Tempranillo and Cabernet.
On the nose, the wine is fresh and generously fruity, with impressions of ripe raspberries, strawberries and wild cherries offset by notes of jasmine, spice and mint. The fragrance is confirmed on the palate, which is mellow, fresh and succulent, supported by clean, subtle, sweetly ripe tannins ending in a silky, elegant finish.
Salneval Albarino; Spain, Light straw in color, the nose of this Albariño is seductive with honey, pear and tropical fruit and a slight mineral component. It is racy and zesty with citrus and floral flavors in the mouth, yet is round and soft at the same time.
